Who Am I?

Hyde Panaser hit the comedy scene performing for over an hour for his first ever set. He is founder and regularly headlines a comedy night called Humili-Asian, which offers a platform for comedy acts who want to test a stage of all levels.

Hailing from West London, Hyde is trained as a graphic designer, but has worked within the Asian media industry from the age of 15. Performing music to various crowds, moving on to radio and progressing into comedy. He has produced, written and presented a number of hi-octane radio shows for community radios, including breakfast shows and specialist music shows. He has also appeared on TV and film, speed dating in Gurinder Chadha’s movie “It’s A Wonderful Afterlife”. He was also featured on the BBC Asian Network as part of Meera Syal’s Comedy Night, celebrating the next generation of Asian stand-up comics.

When it comes to comedy he considers everyone a target, his observational storytelling style takes you on a journey of numerous subjects to dealing with the different cultures he comes across living a multicultural lifestyle – at home with his parents! He has previously opened for Imran Yusuf, Jason Rouse, Felix Dexter, Papa CJ, Shazia Mirza, Robin Ince, Paul Sinha, Nathon Caton and many more talented acts. Hyde has had the opportunity to perform at some of the top comedy venues and theatres around the country including, Watermans, The Comedy Store, Downstairs at The King’s Head, The Comedy Cafe, Alexander Theatre (Birmingham), Millennium Stadium (Cardiff) and many more.

He has attracted interest from various media including Timeout, Asiana Magazine, Eastern Eye, BBC Asian Network and InsideDesi.com. He was runner up in The Olympia New Act Competition 2011 and Semi-Finalist in The Golden Jester Comedy Competition 2012. He has also been a finalist at The Comedy Store Gong Show numerous times.

Hyde has debuted his show “99 Problems But My Beard Ain’t One” at the Camden Fringe 2018 where he performed 5 exclusive shows. He looks at the social perceptions towards someone who looks like him. He has written and produced a spoof track of the same name which featured in the show. You can catch some of the quips on his social media under the hash tag #99problemsbutmybeardaintone
